Fairfax County Taxpayers Alliance Web Site Privacy Policy

General Policy
FCTA respects the privacy of users who visit each of the pages within the FCTA web site. The following policies are in effect for all of the Web pages owned and operated by FCTA.

What we record
When a visitor requests pages at FCTA's Web Site, our Web servers automatically recognize the browser, accessing domain and IP address and times. Our server does not record visitors' e-mail addresses unless an e-mail message is sent to us We collect the domain names, IP addresses and pages visited solely to aggregate and analyze information about pages visitors access or visit. This information is collected solely to make the site more valuable for visitors and is not used to identify individuals.

Information you provide
From time to time, we invite users to provide their e-mail address or mailing address for the purpose of filling in a membership application or other FCTA form to provide additional member services (for example, subscriptions to e-mail alerts, future newsletters or acknowledgements of inquiries.) Whenever the identity of a visitor is recorded, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the request before the information is requested. If you decide to supply your postal address in an online form, you may receive mailings from FCTA such as newsletters, or special notices, depending on the form you use.

Forum participation
When you participate in FCTA's internet Forum, your name or alias may be recorded solely for the purpose of maintaining your own identity consistently within the Forum. No effort is made to use information about individuals using the Forum activity or edit their inputs in any way, except to remove obscene, libelous or personally defaming messages when they are brought to the Webmaster's attention.

Disclosure
It is FCTA policy not to disclose the names of individual members or information about individual members without the members' prior permission to anyone for any purposes other than those required for the Officers to carry out their duties under the FCTA bylaws.
