In my April 30 opinion piece entitled ``All about what Arthur Purves said - and what he didn't say," there was one mistake that I would like to correct.
I wrote that since 1991, ``the number of Advanced Placement [AP] exams had increased from 4,055 to 10,269 [an increase of 153 percent]." Actually, the increase is from 7,107 to 10,269 [an increase of 44 percent].
I apologize for the mistake. The lower number for 1991 was the total number of students, which is lower than the number of exams, because many students take more than one exam.
